Eating @ Baconfest 2016 (Toronto)

10:37 AM

Over the hot summer weekend in August, there was a Baconfest 2016 festival held at the Leslieville Farmer's Market (celebration of local, sustainable, pasture-raised antibiotic free products). The special event was a battle of the bacon where local restaurateurs, chefs and bacon artisans were vying for the coveted Golden Spatula for the best bacon-themed food offering.

The Leslieville Farmers’ Market runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays at Jonathan Ashbridge Park, 20 Woodward Ave. at Queen Street East. It opened for the season on May 22 and runs until Oct. 30.

Food Comments:
There were like 20-30 vendor tents. Many organic farmers selling their produces. If I had known about the size of the market, I wouldn't have created my own lunch! I definitely would return next time when in the area.

$3.5 for this cherry, yogurt, granola Popsicle - so good in this weather

Best bacon sandwich ever!

Old fashion bacon cut on the grill with side mustard sauce - it was too good!
