Best Restaurants for Hand-Pulled Noodles in Toronto
8:40 AMWith Toronto being a salad pot for different ethic backgrounds, there has been a growing trend of restaurants focus on high quality noodles. For this post, we only dive into the hand-pulled style noodles (aka "Lamian") made famous/popular by city of Lanzhou in China. No mentions of Japanese Ramen restaurants.
Please feel free to contradict my claims. My opinion going from top to bottom are:
1 | Eight Noodles 面对面 3309 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1T | Always busy and packed - presentation of the noodle dishes are great with tasty side dishes |
2 | 3255 Hwy 7 #15 Markham, ON L3R 3P9 | Taiwanese style noodles that are freshly made - always busy place |
3 | 5421 Yonge St North York, ON M2N 5R6 | Many different noodle styles from China - the noodle quality is quite high but with varying modern day touches |
4 | LanZhou Hand Pulled Noodle 8362 Kennedy Road Markham, ON L3R 9W5 | Very similar to Eight Noodles - texture of noodles is good but find the soups are very salty |
5 | Very similar to Eight Noodles - texture of noodles is good - side dishes were horrible | |
6 | Dragon Legend 25 Lanark Road Markham, ON L3R 9Y7 | All you can eat buffet - they have custom pull noodle station that is made quickly in front of you. Never had a bad experience |
7 | 1383 16th Ave Richmond Hill, ON L4B 1J3 | Lowest ranking due to presentation - noodle texture is okay but soup is lacking depth |
Other Places:
Grand Noodle - horrible! Not even fresh made noodles
