Eating @ Shiso Tree Cafe (J Town)
10:04 AMShiso Tree Cafe has been one of my favourite places to visit from day one when it open. I would label Shiso Tree Cafe as a Japanese-Western fusion restaurant which specializes in Japanese-inspired pastas. To find this restaurant, you have to go into the plaza of where J-Town is located.
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Pricing: $10-15 per entree dish
Atmosphere: This restaurant has like 2 different floor elevations. One on the ground floor for some tables and upper floor for seats along the east side windows. The decor inside the restaurant had a IKEA feel with the Japanese inspired curtain. It's very quiet most of the time. They do have free wifi if required.
Food:
Usually known for their pasta dishes, I decided to try something non pasta. For lunch time, I ordered Unagi Dashi Tamago Rice and my colleague ordered the Pork Belly Udon with slow poached egg. My rice dish was excellent and very filling. The Unagi with the egg mixture really elevated the eggs to another level. The Grilled BBQ eel was great in texture and not heavy in the sauce. It was a pretty filling meal.
